Why are you called 1513 Photography?
-The name comes from when we were kids growing up and playing baseball. Joel was number 15 and played a mean 3rd base when he wasn’t on the mound throwing wild pitches.  Brian wore lucky number 13 and was an acrobatic outfielder who was spectacular with his glove but pretty useless with a bat. Even though neither of them were good enough to make it to the big leagues, their numbers managed to stick around… 1513.

How long have you been in photography?
-Joel took his first photography class back in the 9th grade but didn’t actually start getting seriuous until 2008. Brian has always been the guy at the party with a camera in his hand but didn’t get his first “professional” camera until his dad bought him one for his birthday a couple years ago. It’s been glued to his face ever since.

What kind of services do you provide?
-Since starting the company in late 2010, most of the work at 1513 has involved couples, engagements and children, but they also have experience shooting headshots, and covering events as well. Their work has appeared in The Frederick News-Post, The Gazette, and been displayed in the Artomatic gallaries. Both photographers have the experience and ability to handle just about any photographic situation that may arise.

Describe your typical session?
-After selecting a package, Joel or Brian will contact the client via phone to get an idea of what the they are looking for and discuss diferent ideas they may have as well.

That’s followed up with an email confirming the date, time and location, as well as a summary of the ideas that were discussed earlier.

During the shoot we like to explore the location a bit and keep things relaxed and natural. There might be some minimal direction or posing from us but this is your shoot and we want the images to reflect you and not our idea of how we think you should look.

How far will you travel?
-For general photo sessions we will travel anywhere within the greater Baltimore/Washington/Northern Virginia area. For weddings we’ll travel just about anywhere along the east coast between New York and Virginia Beach. Locations of a greater distance will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Pricing

For the typical photo session (couples, seniors, kids, families) 1513 offers two packages:

Package One ($125) – Ninety minute (1.5 hours) session at the location of your choice within the Baltimore/Washington area. It includes processing of all the images and a password-protected viewing gallery for the client to view all of the pictures. The client also gets two (2) 8×10 prints and their choice of either six (6) 4×6 or 5×7 prints. Any additional prints can be bought a la carte .

Package Two ($250) – Two hour session at the location of your choice within the Baltimore/Washington area. It provides the same online viewing gallery and print deal as Package One and also includes a master CD/USB flash drive with 75-100 unlocked and processed images, ready to print!

Weddings/Events
Because every event/wedding is unique with its own set of variables and circumstances, we have no set price. Generally speaking, our prices for events/weddings range anywhere from $500 to $2500. To get the most accurate quote, please contact us.
